what i do

beth kantrowitz

INDEPENDENT curator

I am an independent curator representing  emerging and mid-career, contemporary artists primarily from the Northeast.

INDEPENDENT CURATOR
Most people know me as the Co-Director of Drive-by Projects in Watertown, MA and previously the acclaimed Allston Skirt Gallery in Boston.  I have 20+ years of experience with artists working in all media in Boston and beyond. This gives me a unique perspective on the arts community - inspiring me to curate thought-provoking exhibitions at galleries and unusual venues.

Let's work together to find the perfect work of art for your home or office. I will put all of my resources together to define, search out and capture your 'art crushes'. Drawing on my relationships with artists, other curators and dealers, I can handle all aspects of the transaction - identify under-valued artists and emerging talent, sending images or arranging studio visits, negotiating terms and discounts – all the way to framing and professional installation.

 About Nayda’s work:
Born in Boston to a Czech émigré and a transplant from the Mid-west, artist Nadya Volicer makes intricate textile works about memory. Using embroidery, appliqué and other craft techniques with repurposed fabric, she stitches together imagery from family photographs to create a sense of time and place that is at once evocative and ambiguous.

There are many reasons why I love and appreciate s There are many reasons why I love and appreciate studio visits. Spending time today with Kate Holcomb Hale is a ideal example. Surrounded by Kate’s sculptures and drawings, I could sense the Care, generosity, love, and grieve that has influenced her life, both personally and universally.
Thank you Kate❤️
